How can I make a booking?Enquiries and bookings can be made via the online booking system and WhatsApp. We will constantly be improving our booking system for our guests as well.

Is outside food allowed?Outside food and raw food materials are not allowed. Cooking in the rooms and the use of cooking appliances are prohibited in the retreat. Only light snacks and drinks are permitted.

What about the meals?All room rates include breakfast. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals are served at the following times: Breakfast: 7:30 am - 10:00 am Lunch: 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Dinner: 7:30 pm (Kitchen closes at 9:00 pm) If you require an earlier breakfast, please inform the crew. Cooked breakfast is only served after 8:00 am. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements that were not specified during booking, please inform us as soon as possible during the check-in process.

Is the food served in the retreat halal?While we do not possess Halal certificates, all our food is pork-free.

Are we child-friendly?We encourage children to visit and experience the outdoors with us. However, please note that children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times during their stay.

What is the check-in time and check-out time?The main entrance gate will only be opened at 3 pm for check-in. Check-out time is at 12 pm. Please note that exceptions may apply based on the specific rate plan terms and conditions. The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to check NRIC during check-in. Both children and adults are required to present their NRIC upon check-in. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Should any guests fail to do so, the management of The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to refuse entry or expel them.

What are the things to bring for the stay?Essential: Mosquito repellent Sun block Toothbrush, toothpaste and personal toiletries Proper trekking shoes (for Jungle Trekking) Optional: Hair Dryer Jacket, Cap, Raincoat, Swimwear Torch/headlamp Camping accessories (Foldable Camping Chairs & Table, Tarp, Lamp and etc.) Light snacks & drinks Remark: Flammable, explosive or otherwise hazardous materials are not permitted.

Can guests come and not stay the night?Only guests with prior bookings are permitted to enter the retreat. We prioritize the privacy of our guests; therefore, walk-in visitors or guests without a booking are prohibited and will not be accommodated.

Can I organize a company trip or company event at the Retreat?Yes, we do cater to small events. You can send us your inquiry through the RENT A SPACE section or WhatsApp us. We would be happy to assist you.

Are pets allowed?No pets are allowed in the Retreat as we respect and value the comfort and privacy of all guests.

Is the Retreat wheelchair friendly?While we aim to accommodate all guests, it's important to note that our location is situated on hilly terrain with steps and slopes, which may pose challenges for individuals with disabilities. We recommend reaching out to us directly to discuss any specific accessibility needs you may have.

Can i drive to the Retreat?Yes, you can access our location. However, please note that sections of the road leading up to our retreat are unpaved, so we do not recommend bringing lowered vehicles or sports cars.

Is the parking free?Yes, parking is available with limited space inside the retreat. Staying guests are advised to park at their own risk, as The Hooton Retreat management will not be responsible for any damage or theft of vehicles or their contents.

Is the Retreat a smoke-free premise?Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the accommodations, washrooms, and any shared communal areas. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the premises.

How secure is our Retreat?Our premises are gated and guarded by our trained guard dogs. Additionally, our retreat is strictly for in-house guests only, ensuring a secure and private environment.

How do I contact you if i need help?We are available five days a week, from Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 6 pm. You can reach us at our phone number 019 2080 633. However, we prefer communication via WhatsApp or Facebook as we are often on the move.

Do we provide barbecue?Yes, we provide charcoal and barbecue pits for guests upon advanced booking request.

What is the occupancy of a room?Our retreat can accommodate up to 60 people. Here are the maximum occupancy details for each unit: Dome Otus (5 Units): up to 2 people each Dome Tyto Honeymoon Suite (1 Unit): up to 2 people Dome Tyto Premium Suite (2 Units): up to 4 people each Bubo Cote Studio5 (3 Units): up to 5 people each Bubo Cote Studio3 (2 Units): up to 3 people each Villa Aegolius (1 Unit): up to 8 people Villa Ninox (1 Unit): up to 10 people

Can guests request an extra bedding?For all accommodations, a maximum of one extra bed for only one additional occupant is allowed and is chargeable, subject to the real-time rate (not applicable for the Villa Ninox room). The charge will automatically be included upon selection of more than the specific number of guests during booking. Requests for an additional extra bed should be made at least three days before the check-in date. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding The Hooton Retreat's Occupancy Policy, our staff will be happy to provide detailed explanations. Please note that The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to refuse entry to any additional guests exceeding the maximum occupancy allowed for that room type.

Are the accommodations equipped with air-conditioning?Currently, only the Villas and Bubo Cote Studio rooms are equipped with air-conditioning. The Dome rooms are provided with air cooler machines and roof ventilation fans. In the event of hot weather during the day, guests are encouraged to spend their time outdoors. Please note that the temperature at the retreat can become chilly at night, so customers are advised to bring a light jacket.

What are the payment policies?Currency & Tax: Rates are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Please note that The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to change prices without prior notice.

Room Rate and Cancellation.All room rates include breakfast. Children aged 6 and above are considered adults and require an extra bed for each child. They must also be booked for their own meals. One child aged 5 and below is allowed without charge in any room type, sharing a bed with parents/guardians. Children aged 5 or below eat for free based on meals booked by parents/guardians. Extra beds are available upon request at RM80 per bed. Please note that only one extra bed per room is allowed. Extra bed not applicable for the Villa Ninox room. Additional breakfast is chargeable at RM28 per person. All additional orders must be made at least 3 working days before your check-in date. Reservation is guaranteed only upon payment confirmation by The Hooton Retreat and bank receipt verification. No refunds are provided for booking cancellations or reductions. Changes to booking dates must be made at least 14 days before the check-in date, with a 3-month grace period from the previous booking date, subject to room availability and management's approval. No-shows and early check-outs will be charged according to the nightly room rate. The Hooton Retreat requires a deposit for incidental charges upon check-in, payable in cash only.

What are the general policies?The Hooton Retreat does not accept liability for its failure to provide contracted services due to circumstances beyond our control. The Hooton Retreat does not guarantee guests' safety against events such as accidents, injuries, or theft caused by third parties, acts of nature, or negligence. All activities carry inherent risks, and The Hooton Retreat will not be responsible for any incidents related to facilities, activities, or services provided. The Hooton Retreat reserves the right to charge guests for damage or soiling caused by negligence or deliberate acts.The Hooton Retreat is not liable for the loss of money or personal valuables during your stay. The following items are prohibited on The Hooton Retreat premises: flammable or hazardous materials foul-smelling objects unregistered firearms or weapons unusually large objects or quantities items related to illegal activities and illegal drugs. The management reserves the right to expel or refuse entry to guests who do not comply with the retreat's policies.

What are the health & Well-being policies?To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, The Hooton Retreat maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards commotion, excessive noise, and parties on our premises. Any individual found creating excessive noise, hosting a party, exceeding the permitted number of guests, or otherwise causing a disturbance will be asked to leave The Hooton Retreat without refund. If any guest's actions, whether towards our staff or otherwise, are deemed inappropriate, or if inappropriate behavior is reported, The Hooton Retreat reserves the right, following an investigation, to take appropriate action against the guest. This may include expulsion from the retreat without refund for any services incurred.
